Conor is from Strabane, Co. Tyrone, and he met Michael at a gym in his home city of Perth. "It was one of those things where we became really friendly and then it just organically grew from there," they explain.

They got engaged on Conor's birthday, how cute! We'll let him fill us in on all the uber-romantic details. "Michael took us to a restaurant which is above the city and it rotates with the most amazing views. We had a beautiful dinner paired with wines from Margaret river and Manjimup black truffles, where he grew up, it was beautiful. I was caught by surprise tapping on about ordering wine from the vineyards and then it happened, I was speechless and that never happens. It was the easiest 'yes' you could have ever imagined."

"We opted for a black-tie theme because everything in Australia is a lot more casual when it comes to dressing up and we wanted to let our international gang get full Irish glammed."

The couple tied the knot out on the jetty and getting the music note-perfect was vital to setting the perfect atmosphere. "I think one of the best decisions we made was getting Adagio String Quartet for our ceremony music and to play for our drinks reception. They played it all, Abba, Madonna, 2Pac, Pitbull, they were phenomenal."

It was being surrounded by their favourite people that made their celebration so special. Conor reflects, "My best men James and Jack said the most beautiful words, and really kept the energy high, with our bridesmaids Shauna and Sophie making a presentation on my move away, our lives together and the people we missed the most on the day. That set me off, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Michael's Aussie gang Colin and Matt came in with the funniest stories that we have and it was amazing because so many of our guests would have never heard them otherwise, they made us laugh made us cry and made us have a clinker of a day."

The couple enlisted Orchard and Rose Designs to bring their decor vision to life and we love their table plan idea with the luggage tags doubling up as sweet wedding favours. They named the tables after all their favourite places in the southern hemisphere.

As for how they found the wedding venue of their dreams, Conor reveals, "We had the most amazing night away and my cousin Sinead said, 'Look there’s a wedding tour let’s go and have a nosey.' The rest is fate, I fell in love with the venue and thank God that Michael did too when I brought him back to see it, all of our Aussie guests where just blown away by Lusty Beg. I will say Kirsty Lynch who works as the wedding coordinator sealed the deal, we just knew she was the one to help us plan our day from the other side of the globe."

The flowers formed the foundation of their wedding styling. "We knew our amazing florists based in Strabane (Marlene Micky and Laura from Floral Bliss) were going to import in all Australian native flowers, the big ones are king protea and they are just so beautiful, that led on to our colour schemes and outfits."

"Our suits really sealed the deal, big shout out to Lisa and Paddy for introducing us to Gerard at Different Class Menswear, that shop is honestly where everything fell into place, it was so easy to do fittings and alterations. That is the place to go if you want to look sharp."

Sweetly, their florist Laura surprised them with buttonholes including gum nuts from Perth. "We hadn’t asked or planned for them but they were so delicate and a beautiful touch. They're currently drying in my living room now to get framed, they were so special to us."

When their guests were taking their seats the newlyweds shared an absolutely beautiful moment together with their 'unofficial' first dance as the quartet performed Yellow by Coldplay. "It was such a special private moment outside that we just naturally took it from there with our bridal party watching and it was just us. I loved that it was just so unplanned but so fitting."

Conor and Michael have loads of excellent wedding planning tips to keep in mind. "It’s east to get swept away with thinking you haven’t planned enough entertainment, or that there’s gaps in the day. We made sure that there was grazing tables and drinks and some amazing live music to keep everyone going, I’m glad we didn’t clutter the day with too many things because it was honestly the quickest day ever."

"Have a party the next day, it’s a must, it gave us a chance to actually see everyone again and have a great chilled catch up. We went for a BBQ at the thatch cottage and had live music then karaoke, it was great because that was our day to let our hair down because on the day of the wedding it’s gone in a blink. One minute we were sitting down for our meal and the next it was 1am. Take some private moments, spend some time with each other and try and stay glued to each other's hip because it goes by in a blink and you don’t want to miss a moment with your new spouse."

The newlyweds went to Barbados and Antigua for their honeymoon and they would certainly recommend it. "It was amazing, such friendly people and so much cool sailing and water activities, the Caribbean invented rum and it was so cool to go there, sip rum punch, and explore, we brought an engraved bottle back to open on our first anniversary. Living in Perth it’s a 40-hour journey to the Caribbean each way so we chose this opportunity to go explore there."
